What is Float?
Flotation is a uniquely immersive therapeutic experience that enhances your mental and physiological health. It has its roots in the scientific research of sensory deprivation. In 1954 a neuroscientist named John Lilly found that the distraction-free environment of his isolation tank led to incredibly enhanced states of mental relaxation. Since this discovery, research has proven that floating offers many ways to improve the collective and individual quality of life. Stress management, pain relief, mental health therapy, athletic advancement, and creative enhancement are a sample of what can be gained though float tank therapy.
Many people are unsure of the benefits of this age old practice. We encourage you to see how float can benefit you! |

Chronic pain disorders are notoriously difficult to treat because their causes can be impossible to pinpoint. However, promising research, including the Fibromyalgia Float Project is demonstrating that floating can provide immense relief to fibromyalgia sufferers. Arthritic pain is often associated with the joints, and can be a huge barrier to enjoying many of life’s daily activities. During this time there will floating available at no cost to our friends, family, neighbors, and the community. The experience suggests that clients float a total of three times throughout the course of one month and agree to be interviewed before and after this period.
