A Message from Virginia - Owner - Calm Lake Floats![]() Hello friends, it has been too long since we have seen everyone. Like all of you we have watched and reacted to the swift changes in our day-to-day lives. As we hunker down we have learned to do 1st grade in a swimsuit, how to shoot a layup, and what an amazing creative tool side-walk chalk can be. We look forward to seeing everyone hearing about your summer when the time is appropriate. We will be watching our peers and other states as they open their spas and float therapy businesses. We are confident that we can provide a safe space to float. However, under the direction of our medical team, because of compromised family members, we are choosing to continue to isolate and not accept customers at this time. Circumstances are changing quickly so that to make any predictions would be premature. We acknowledge that there are many outstanding gift cards and credits. We look forward to when we can address these credits with a solution that is appreciated by our guests.
Hopefully we can all “float” through the next few weeks and months, and come out stronger, more at peace, and grateful for the freedoms we may have taken for granted before. Miss you and see you all as soon as possible!

New Ulm Chamber's CEO, Michael Looft, and Floating![]() Our very own Chamber President and CEO, Michael Looft, has benefited from Flotation Therapy. After an accident, as he tackled the road to recovery, Michael floated to help with pain management and stress relief. “A day after my first 60-minute float, my blood pressure went down considerably, my leg felt marginally better and my back felt adjusted.” The relief that he experienced continued to increase as he continued to float. Read more about Michael in today’s blog.. After a tumble off my roof in early 2017 it was safe to say I would not be a roofer. It was also very noticeable that I needed to find alternative treatment options for physical therapy. As a busy retail manager at the time, I did not have time for the conventional kind of physical therapy. I did most of the recover steps by myself with strict instructions from my surgeon. At the end of the day I needed something that would re-energize me, relieve stress and reduce pain. I was put in contact with a business that did float therapy in Mankato. I went in expecting it to be a scam. I could not believe that floating in salt water would possibly make aches and pains go away. To appease many people in my life, I made an appointment and started my first float session 4 months after my original surgery. The surgery left 2 plates, 4 pins and 2 vertical pins in my left ankle. My first float was a nerve-racking experience. I couldn’t get comfortable; my mind would not shut off and the music was not my style. I almost did not go back. But a day after 60-minute float my blood pressure went down considerably, my leg felt marginally better and my back felt adjusted. I went back a second, third and fourth time and each time I floated it was a better result. I’m now a supporter of float therapy and have seen the great properties that results from floating. If you have questions contact Virginia Suker-Moldan at Calm Lake Floats in New Ulm. She is a professional with great knowledge in float therapy and how it can help you. You don’t have to take my word for it, try it yourself more than once and you’ll find it a relaxing oasis.
